On behalf of the entire St. Stephen’s Episcopal -Houston family, and in response to the dynamic needs of many of our families, we are pleased to announce that we are offering an outstanding and engaging virtual summer camp for our Primary (3 - 6 years) and Lower Elementary (1st - 3rd Grade) students.

Welcome to The STEAM Lab!

The STEAM Lab is an interactive and hands on summer camp in a kit that is offered by the week.  Each week has a different theme, and each day falls under a category in the S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering Art, and Mathematics) umbrella.  Students will be invited to join daily, hour long zoom sessions to learn with The STEAM Lab team: Ms. Meredith (Middle Years mathematics and science lead teacher), Mr. Darius and Mr. Devin!

While Primary and Lower Elementary will be exploring the same topics on the same days, the projects are differentiated to provide age-appropriate learning.  The kits, which are being assembled as we speak by our STEAM Team, will provide everything needed for the students to excel.  Alongside the materials will come a very streamlined and easy to interpret set of how-to instructions for parents.. You can expect many new creations to be decorating your home!

This is going to be an absolutely amazing experience for the students to re-ignite their love of learning, while being highly entertained by three of St. Stephen’s endlessly enthusiastic and positive staff members.

The STEAM Lab Team:

The STEAM Lab Team is led by Ms. Meredith, the Middle Years mathematics and science teacher, with the entertaining and enriching support of Mr. Devin and Mr. Darius.  The STEAM Lab team walks the students through hour long, age-appropriate  hands-on activities geared towards satisfying the S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) umbrella, all tied into exciting weekly themes.

Weekly Meeting Times:

Primary Meeting Times: Monday – Friday, 9:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M.

Lower Elementary Meeting Times: Monday – Friday, 11:00 A.M. – Noon

Utilizing brand new microscopes, available directly to you from our STEAM Lab supply cabinets, students will be guided through a week study of the inner workings of a wide array of items – from plant leaves and slices of strawberries, to hair follicles and cheek cells. Join us as we learn the wonderful mysteries of what lies under the lens. Microscopes available for purchase if your scientist decides they’re just too much fun to return! We’re going out BIG by going in SMALL!
