At St. Stephen’s School, we are committed to ensuring our school provides an environment free of abuse, exploitation and harassment. With resources and materials provided by the Episcopal Diocese of Texas (EDOT), our Safeguarding God's Children training and certification teaches us best practices to safeguard all of the children entrusted to our care.

The Safeguarding God's Children Certification Process is an online process consisting of an interview, application, reference checks, background checks, and in-person training class.  All parents who intend to volunteer on campus in any way are required to take this training. Certification in Safeguarding God's Children enables parents to participate in any classroom activities and any school events such as classroom birthday celebrations, Spring Festival, Teddy Bear Picnic, Cookie Walk, overnight trips, camps, etc.  Ryan Hawthorne, Church Youth Missioner, will facilitate the training on campus.

To begin the process, register below for a class.  The school will process your request and then send you a confirmation, followed separately by an email link to the online application. Safeguarding deadlines are usually two weeks prior to Safeguarding class date. Once you have completed the online application, you will be registered for the class date you selected, or will be offered a list of other class dates/locations if you are unable to attend a training date at St. Stephen’s.
